If you visit our online store, you can find a new addition to A's Sourdough product line. Besides our Artisan Sourdough Bread, we are now offering our Sourdough Sandwich Bread to our customers. There are important differences between those two types of bread, so it is the perfect time to put them side-by-side for a quick comparison.
A's Artisan Sourdough Bread
- Made partially with whole wheat flour that creates its darker complexion.
- The sourdough starter is fed with 100% whole wheat flour,
- Slowly fermented for 30-36 hours for the maximum health benefits of sourdough,
- Baked using a traditional "Dutch Oven" method for the artisan texture and shape.
A's Sourdough Sandwich Bread
- Made with bread flour only (no whole wheat flour)
- Made with a fully white sourdough starter culture (in order to achieve a lighter texture)
- Slowly fermented for 30-36 hours for the maximum health benefits of sourdough.
- Baked in a loaf pan for the traditional sandwich bread shape
Both Artisan Bread and the Sandwich Bread are fermented long and slowly in order to provide the maximum health benefits and easy digestibility. The whole wheat flour in the Artisan loaf is responsible for a somewhat darker colour and the signature texture.
We wanted to offer all the goodness of sourdough to everyone who prefers a bread with thinner crust, a lighter texture and a shape that fits lunch boxes and toasters easier. All these characteristics are combined in our Sourdough Sandwich Bread.
